Beginning March 15, 2005, Semiconwell offers packaged devices ROHS compliant at the Customer request ONLY. EUROPE The directive 2002/95/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27th January 2003 on the RoHS in electrical and electronic equipments entered into force on 13th of February 2003. The aim of this directive is to ban heavy metals (Lead, Mercury, Cadmium, Hexavalent Chromium) and two brominated compounds (PBB and PBDE). The directive will be applicable throughout EU by 1st July 2006. Semiconwell products are fully in line with European RoHS and therefore are RoHS compliant when specifically requested by customer.JAPAN Legislation requires a 50% reduction on lead content by end of 2002. After 2005, lead will be accepted in exceptional cases and will conduce to a total ban by 2015. Semiconwell products are compliant with JAPAN legislation when specifically requested by customer.USA Semiconductor Industry Association has issued a road map calling for 80% reduction by end of 2003, with total elimination by end of 2008. Semiconwell products are compliant with USA lead free SIA recommendations when specifically requested by customer. |
